Frequently Asked Questions

What is therapy?

Therapy is for anyone who is looking for a space in which they can process their experiences. It’s for anyone who is looking to be heard in a non-judgmental environment that also provides insights into the individual and the world around them.

How do I know if I need therapy?

Therapy is unique and individualized to each client. If you feel as though you are tired of feeling “stuck” and want to seek a better understanding of yourself then therapy might be for you.

How long will I be in therapy?

Therapy is a delicate process that relies heavily on the therapeutic relationship established between client and clinician. Based on how this varies from individual to individual there is no set time frame for therapy services to “end.” The length of services is based upon the presenting concern which led you to seek therapy and your set pace through sessions.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are scheduled in hour-long blocks and are 53 minutes. Due to the sensitive nature of therapy, it is recommended that clients utilize their full session in order to allow time for reflection and processing; however, the session length is dependent on the client.

Are there any limitations to privacy and confidentiality?

Still Counseling & Wellness, LLC takes pride in ensuring that privacy and confidentiality are provided for all clients. There are legal and ethical exceptions when information in sessions may be disclosed. These instances include when 1) elder or child abuse is suspected, 2) imminent risk of harm to the client or other, 3) as required by state or federal laws, and 4) when required to obtain payment for services.

How do I know if Still Counseling & Wellness, LLC is right for me?

Clients who receive services from Still are those who are ready for an active shift in their lives, and a space to breathe. They are looking for a therapist who not only has the clinical tools and expertise to help them best process their unique challenges, but who "gets it" when it comes to the negative impacts they have experienced based on their Race, Ethnicity, or Gender. They seek a therapist who will provide genuine insight but will provide Truths via empathetic challenge when needed.
